Suggested Areas based on the minimum number requirement established by the County. Suggested areas for 11 day voting locations are included in suggested areas for 4 day voting locations. In some cases, suggested areas may not visually align with the census block data used to determine siting scores due to differences in scale.
Additional Voting Location Options are areas that can be considered beyond the minimum number requirement established by the County.
All Potential Areas that have a minimum of population, built environment, roads, etc. where a vote site could potentially be located.
Voter data considerations:
1) All variables are displayed as a percent of the census tract population, unless otherwise noted as a percent of the county population.
2) Voter data may be imprecise as it was converted from the precinct-level to the census tract-level.
3) Voter data split by subgroups can be viewed under each category's dropdown arrow if reliable data is available. Black voter data is only available for Alameda and Los Angeles counties, as Census data for Black populations relies on small sample sizes and is unreliable for other counties.
All variables are displayed as a percent of the census tract population, unless otherwise noted as a percent of the county population.
Points of Interest include:
1) 2020 General Election Precinct Boundaries
2) Voting Locations: Previous voting locations sited by counties sourced from the Voting Information Project (VIP). Voting locations reported by counties to VIP may be inaccurate or incomplete.
3) Transit Stops: Transit stops sourced from regional GTFS data feeds.
4) OpenStreetMap Points of Interest: OpenStreetMap is a crowdsourced database of buildings and other points of interest.
Zero value estimates may not be accurate due to high margins of error for small samples.
